What happens at registration?
All the riders need to register to sign the indemnity forms and collect their goody bags. Riders get together to chat over a nice cold beverage and/or a meal and watch the Google flythrough of the route. It is also an opportunity for riders to meet the Dusi Mfula team and ask any question about the route, security or administration.
How do our seconds get to the overnight stop?
Get back onto the N3 towards DBN. Take the Shongweni offramp, turn left at the top and follow the road to the robots at the Tjunction. Turn right (takes you into Hillcrest). At Inanda Road turn left and follow the road till you see a castle wall. At the end of the wall turn left into Fisher Road. Follow the road right till the end, its about 20 minutes, and thats the Dam.
What accommodation is provided?
Each team is given a 3m x 3m tent and 2 x mattresses at the dam.
What happens to my baggage?
All riders that are staying in the tent town are to attach the bag labels supplied in the goody bags to their baggage and then to hand it in at the tog bag facility before 07h30 on the Saturday morning. It will be taken to the dam and put into a baggage area where you will need to collect from. Your tags will be safe in your tents until you finish on Sunday.

Is there hydration along the route?
There are 2 USN Oases on Day 1 and one on Day 2 with bananas, USN hydration drink and water. We do advise that each competitor rides with their own drinking systems as well.
Are our seconds allowed to follow the race?
We are discouraging this as there are many points in the race where the riders fly out of the bush and onto the road and we would hate to have any cars in their way. Please note that if there are people that follow the race then be aware of the riders. NO vehicles are allowed on the road from Marianny Foley to Inanda Dam. There official spectator points - please see the map provided.
What are the distances and expected times of each day?
Day 1 is approximately 63km and day 2 is 42km’s. The leaders should be in on both days between 10h00- 11h00. The average times fro last year were day one 5.5 hours and day two 3.5 hours.

Each rider will receive a 'snack bag' at the finish each day - lunch and dinner will be served. Tea and coffee will be on-tap 24 hours. Breakfast will be served from 05h00 – 07h30. (This is included in your entry fee.)
Please note that there is a cash bar.
Also note that if you have seconds they need to buy their own lunch - in that case they receive the same food as the riders
Are there hot showers this year?
Yes we have had to bring in our own water tankers and gas heated shower units this year due to the unreliable water supply at the dam. The shower unit will be behind the existing wooden ablutions block. This facility will be available on both days.
